New Building Committee

This committee was formed to manage the process of renewing our current situation (old and tired building with excess demand for existing court space/times).

Terms of Reference

MANDATE

The mandate of the NBC is to oversee and manage all aspects of the project to replace the

existing facility in accordance with the following Terms of Reference.

At all times and in all its dealings, the NBC will act within the bylaws and constitution of the

society.

Termination of the mandate of the NBC will be decided by the CBCC Board which has

authority over the NBC.

MEMBERSHIP

The permanent NBC membership will be drawn from members of the CBCC. The Board of

the CBCC maintains authority over the permanent membership of the NBC, and can change

these appointments as it sees fit.

The Board of the CBCC appoints the following permanent members to the NBC:

  • Chair: Rob Oldfield
  • Secretary: Roger Graves
  • Executive members: Carole Ireland, Tony Knott, Jeff Thom

In addition to the permanent members, the NBC can appoint non-voting members of the

public or CBCC members to the NBC at any time, to provide expertise in fundraising, public

relations, legal issues, land development and any other related area needed to deliver on its

mandate.

WORKING GROUPS, MEETINGS, and REPORTING

To deliver on its mandate, the NBC can establish working groups / sub-committees as

is deemed necessary. The groups or sub-committees will report to the NBC directly.

The NBC will maintain minutes of all meetings of the committee and any meetings of

established working groups / sub-committees formed.

The NBC will make regular reports to the CBCC Board at each of its scheduled board

meetings. The reports will include the filing of all the minutes of the committee and the

working groups held since the last board meeting.

REVIEW PROCESS

As required but not less than yearly, the NBC will conduct a review of these Terms of

Reference and propose to the CBCC Board any required changes to:

  • These Terms of Reference
  • The permanent membership of the NBC
  • Delegated authorities to the NBC from the CBCC Board

Any changes agreed by the CBCC Board within this review process will become an integral

part of these Terms of Reference.
